Public Exchanges

Public Exchanges

Public Exchanges are places where you can buy and sell crypto coins.

There are a lot of exchanges out there – find a list here: Crytptocurrency Exchanges – Market List

Not all exchanges operate in all countries – make sure to check if your country is accepted.

On some public exchanges you can buy Bitcoin with your credit card – for example coinbase, on others you need to already own Bitcoin and fund your account with Bitcoin to be able to purchase Altcoins.

Public Exchange Poloniex

Poloniex often referred to as “Polo” has the biggest volume in trading. You can trade different markets like BTC, ETH, XMR and USDT.

Public Exchange Bittrex

There are many more coins listed on Bittrex than on Polo and Bittrex has the second highest trading volume, as of time of writing this article.

Coinbase lets you buy Bitcoin with your credit card, but you need to have a verified account. They do KYC(Know your customer) authentification. This can take a while but is worth it.

Lately, you can even purchase Litecoin and Etherium as well directly on coinbase.

(If you use one of the links above to create your account coinbase will gift you an additional 10$ for the first 100$ you fund into your account).

On this exchange you find some coins which are not listed on the bigger exchanges.

To find out where a specific coin is listed go to coinmarketcap

To find a coin either scroll through the list or type in the coin name in the search field on top of the page. Then a new site will open with info about the coin. Now you want to click on markets and then you see on which exchanges the coin is listed.

I will be adding more public exchanges here. They are in no particular order though.
